I'm assuming you use distilled water (without salt, baking soda or
other stuff to "jump start" the production).

You're trying to make the CS too fast by using a relatively high
voltage throughout the generating cycle.  That is, using 30 volts for
1/2 hour will produce a slightly yellowish CS because the current for
the last 15 minutes of the cycle is too high (knocking bigger chunks
of silver off the electrodes).  The current rises throughout the
cycle, but since the conductivity of the water will increase as silver
get into the water, the current will increase.

The best way to solve the problem is to reduce the voltage across the
electrodes after about 15 minutes from 30 volts to 12 volts or so
(Radio Shack sells a transformer that is switchable between 30 volts
and 13.5 volts that works well).  Another way is to make or buy a
controlled current CS generator, because it's the current that makes
the CS, not the voltage.  www.silvergen.com and www.silverpuppy.com
