Mike, The LM334 works fine. The only problem with any of the below devices is that they can only withstand about 30 volts maximum. With really good distilled water, it will take a while for the current to ramp up to 1 ma or whatever your constant current setup produces. You need upwards of 150 to 200 volts to draw 1 ma with pure steam distilled water. I recently posted a circuit which does that - just a couple more parts added to the LM334 does the trick.
