Where on Earth do you get that info??  Pauling started studying
vitamins, and vitamin C specifically, in the 1930's.  He didn't
publish his books until decades later.  He (and several associates in
the 30's, 40's and 50's) did a lot of research on vitamin C.

BTW, do you recall what Pauling's first nobel prize was for?
