I've never tried it, but I constantly hear that you can purchase a lot of stuff like that from vet supply places that cater to farmers, animal breeders and the like. No prescription or diploma required. Of course, none of it is "appproved" for human use and it costs much less -- but it is *said* to be the same quality every time I've seen this mentioned.
