I accidentally sent out a message with the Japanese character set selected (this sometimes happend automatically) in the preferences option. Sorry if this caused anyone any trouble; I got a rather rude message from one person who was troubled by it. Odd that in this small world there is a problem wiith various character sets; BTW, Japanese language character sets accept roman letters, so any software that goes berserk just because the character set is not "Western" is an inferior sort of software, I think.
Anyway, regrets for any inconvenience. Will be glad for a polite "heads up" if the character set shifts on me in future . . .
