Yes raw food would be best, I have two nuetered male cats. The one that got sick was the one that preferred dry food to canned. I live alone and am gone part of the time. I try to have a life. I don't really have a support system where I live. No one to feed my cats, so I have to rely on dry food sometimes. Jan
