To John and all interested List members:
One of our investigators recently completed an, apparently, useful
protocol development relating to the subject you raised in your
email.....namely, useful experimental, protocols addressing conjunctiva
inflamations in general.
Our researcher tested multiple topically applied compounds.....both
commercially-available ones and a variety of alternative types.....including a
number of herbal derivatives. Many were quite effective---and many were not
effctive at all. Interestingly, the MOST effective, and rapid in general
response characters, was a simple combination of Colloidal Silver (10 to 15 ppm)
utilized in concert with Lysine topical ointment (available at any well-stocked
pharmacy).
Several different approaches were utilized, including mixing the CS and Lysine
ointment into a slurry consistency; through preliminary irrigation of the eye
(using an eye-cup) with CS, followed with a topical application of Lysine
ointment (the most efficacious effects were gained ......( by allowing the C S
solution to dry, before the Lysine ointment was applied) indicated to yield the
most benefit, in the shortest interval of time. The slowest response (#2) came
from any protocol whereby Lysine ointment was allowed to establish a moisture
barrier.....prior to applying other agents.
Good to excellent results accrued, even, from those cases
where the Lysine ointment was applied immediately after the CS irrigation step
(prior to the drying of the CS).
One of the baseline markers used was Mercuric Oxide ointment
(long a standby as a conventional address for typical inflamed conjuntiva
problems). The CS X Lysine combination (in its poorest response configuration
[#2] ) achieved a more rapid (3X in time) and more complete response, than did
the Mercuric Oxide protocol. Additionally, the
pain-alleviation-maintenance.....was an order of magnitude more superior, in
favor of the CS X Lysine protocol----in our Experimental Evaluations.
I hope you find these comments of value......in
your personal Experimental Researches.
                                                            Sincerely, Brooks
Bradley.
