A coffee pot heater is way too hot for thermal stirring. It stirs alright but the excess heat causes the particles to collide and stick together making those large yellow ones [to put it really simply] Don't exceed 100 degrees F The bubbler is probably the better bet. The clear CS is the better CS. Either one will work, it's just that the clear CS has a greater percentage of the particles that are the most desireable.
If you see a golden mist, you are using too much current. Remove a battery. Starting with 4 batteries is ok but remove one every 20 minutes until you are left with one. Keep the mist white. Better yet, stick a potentiometer and a digital milliammeter in series with the batteries and keep the current under 1 or 2 milliamps by twisting the dial. You can use a wall transformer or your telephone jack for a power source instead of batteries. A 24 volt transformer will put out something like 28 volts at the load [1 to 2 milliamps] you want to use. The voltage just determines how fast it all goes at the beginning. [initial current draw] Nine volts is sufficient. The phone jack power is already current controlled so the wiring won't burn up if your phone gets shorted out. The upper limit is probably still too high though.
