Interesting!  One solution to another poisonous bite, snake bites giving some
deadly nerve toxin (and I'm truly sorry, but I've forgotten the snake's name and
remember only that it was from a tropical area) was to apply a high voltage jolt
from a spark plug wire - such as a weed wacker or lawn mower or a car.  This
apparently altered the toxin and made it harmless.  It was - and is - the only
cure for this snake's otherwise fatal bite.
