To List;

I'd like to join others in requesting that you turn off the html
formatting when posting. HTML is used by spammers to try to force you to
go to unwanted sites. Many spam filter programs detect this and block
html-formatted messages. It requires additional effort to tell the
program to allow messages from the silver list, and this may increase the
amount of spam that gets through.

HTML formatting greatly increases the size of the message, since the
original text is duplicated with useless formatting commands. This wastes
time downloading and eats up huge amount of space in storage. This places
a burden on everyone who keeps archives, and makes searches much slower
for everyone who wants to look for additional information in the
archives.

Messages that are easily readable in plain text often become hopelessly
garbled in html. If people cannot read your message, what is the point of
posting it?

Best Regards,

Mike Monett
