When I posted a similar question I was told to use distilled
water--not tap water, reason given was not that it hurts the animal,
but the CS combines with salts in the tap water to make silver
chloride, etc, (hope I remember that rightly), and that makes it
considerably less effective, which means (to me) that in mixing CS
with tap water a lot of the CS is wasted. Now I use distilled water.
My cats like it better, too.
