Trojan Hunter found the culprit for me but I had to find out how to
eliminate it. That's where the Techguy forums came in handy. Go there
and search on the names of those files that Trojan Hunter finds and see
what people have found out about eliminating the infection.

I needed to reboot in safe mode to keep the bugger from loading at
startup. Then I could use windows explorer to delete the executable
file from the hard drive and regedit (the Registry Editor) to
eliminate the two statements in the Registry that were auto-loading
the beast at bootup.

I learned about doing it all from a thread on the Techguy Forums.

Sounds like a trojan rather than a virus, for one. The anti-virus folks
may be able to defeat it soon, but if it's yet another new variant it
may take a few days for them to catch up and distribute new pattern
files.

Get expert advice before you lose your marbles. Amazingly, such advice
seems to be available for the searching or asking at a handful of sites
like the above.

Be well,
