Hi Lisa, We give our horse 32 ounces a day. He weighs 1000+ pounds. We were giving him 16 ounces a day but since the West Nile virus showed up we doubled the dose. We have a pond and lots of mosquitoes so it's a safety measure. We find it easy to get him to drink it straight by putting a tablespoon of frozen apple concentrate in it and then presenting it to him in a round bottom 12 inch dog feeding bowl. That way he is able to lap it all out. Using a feed bucket was problematic because of the square corners. Giving it straight is much better than diluting.
I cannot give any advice on nebulizing other than to tell you that you will have to use an ultrasonic type humidifier if you go that route. No other type humidifier will work. You'll be much further ahead if you make your own CS. Buying it is cost prohibitive.
