A small maintenance daily dose won't stop all infections, it just increases the intensity of the insult that's required for them to take hold. I still get stys when a piece of sawdust gets stuck in my eye. Splinters still fester and wounds still get infected unless I apply CS directly. I have gotten colds and flu while taking CS...just a lot less often and increasing the dosage reduces the time and severity.
In essence,though, I agree with Elle. Anything that's to remain strong needs exercise..but exercise needn't be debilitating. And for some people, for some things, the immune system just wasn't doing the job, strong or not. Take tooth decay. Some people just don't have it. [My sister and mom have never had a cavity] Their immune system fights off those germs. Mine doesn't and CS does.
