Actually maggots work wonderfully for this type of thing. They will consume
all the dead tissue and not touch living tissue at all.   Be sure they are
clean so you don't introduce an infection, but don't try to sterlize them,
they need to be alive. I would say rinsing with colloidal silver would be
just the ticket.
