Probably more complicted than this...but.. If you make silver chloride from salt, it leaves sodium behind, which combines with water to make sodium hydroxide...which will neutralize acid. Seems to me that it would take a heck of a lot of CS to do anything much. Eating a piece of chalk oughta work better [Tums] Or mabe there's an acid producing micro organizm or enzyme at work? Ode
