Evening Thora,

>> I have been trying to find what our body really needs, and which can be taken in larger doses. For me the ideal would be food based, and I will adjust my diet accordingly.

From reading all your posts, it sounds like you are very serious, and ready to make the commitment.

You realize this is much like getting married or joining the Army, there is no way back. <grin>

I can't give you the solution, but I can give you part of the plan to finding the solution. Learning too much, too fast can be confusing. The goal is to simplify the complex decisions.

You must simplify food, drink, vitamins, and minerals. You don't want to spend years, not even months studying and worrying before you begin to make decisions that are beneficial to your health.

Eliminate all unhealthy drinks. You can't go wrong with water, and lots of it.

I tell my friends, "No mater what ails you, you will never get well unless you drink enough water". Since I started drinking enough water, I have not had a headache, eye strain, low energy and have not taken even an aspirin for a good number of years. Plus, I lost near 50 pounds of excess weight.

Start eliminating all bad foods. You know what they are. Unless a food offers a few nutrients, simply don't eat it.

As you do this, think about the good foods that you like. Buy a good quantity and keep them nearby at all times. Having good food such as nuts, seeds, and raw vegetables within reach keeps you from eating worthless and dead food. Read a book about enzymes.

Try to eat a number of foods each day that are high in fat such as brazil nuts, sunflower seed or pumpkin seeds, pecans and almonds. Almonds is a food that is little criticized. I realize some may have chemicals and pesticides. Today I ordered 7 pounds of sunflower seeds and 10 pounds of trailmix. Everything raw, nothing cooked in this mix.

Eat less cooked food and more raw food. Study the hazards of cooked food. Eliminate as much of it as you can.

Eat very little food from cans, ZERO if possible.

Shop your complete trade area for the best fruit and produce. Be very selective. Surely there are several fruits that you like. I eat apples, bananas, oranges, grapefruit, nuts, raisins, prunes, and coconut.

Forget eating three meals per day. Eat as often as you like. If you will increase your metabolism rate you can eat more food. This of course provided more nutrients. I suspect my grandfathers ate 3 to ten times the total calories per day as I do. So, they ingested many more nutrients. They did not have to worry about supplements. Some of them lived to be 80 years old. My mother lived to 91.5 and she ate very, very, simple.

By eating smaller meals, more often, the digestion is better and works the body less. I have read that the greatest stress we place on the body is eating a large meal, especially a large meal of cooked food.

Ensure that the digestion system is working perfect. If any digestive problems exist, address them first with
enzymes and probiotics.

Don't think this an ordeal, or that you will be hungry or feel bad. I find I feel much better when I don't even eat meals. An ounce or two of concentrated food, or a few more ounces of less concentrated food, several times a day will make you feel like a million dollars all day long, often for 20 to 24 hours.

I could write many more ideas but that should get you started. You have to select the vitamins and minerals.

While I have hundreds of different supplements within reach, some days I eat so good, I don't even worry about the supplements. Typically, I change my supplements each week, except for C and E.

You may find it hard to believe, but the only times I have felt bad in several years is after eating a full meal of cooked food. I mean slightly below par, I have no digestive problems, and have a better digestive system than anyone I know.

This is telling me what I need to do. About a year ago, made a 5 day trip to Texas. During those 5 days, I only ate cooked food 3 times. Two meals of the 3 was fried eggs and sausage. The other was a catfish dinner.

And..... I did not even suggest that you eat raw eggs like I do.

Don't forget to study the hazards of cooked food.

Finally, one of the greatest advantages of being healthy is that you can eat anything you want to eat and never worry about it. After you eat what you need, then eat anything else you want. ( that is only after you become healthy and solve all your health problems ) Sick people can't enjoy that luxury of life.
