Wow, Wayne, what an inspiratonal website. Where there's a will, there's a way. Hydroponics require know-how, but using the right fertilizer could certainly provide enough trace elements. As for seaweed or kelp as a fertilizer, the idea is to get a full complement of trace minerals for the plants to utilize. I would think the plant when given a full range of trace minerals would selectively absorb what it needed to grow. Would any particular element like iodine be concentrated beyond normal levels?
