This also allowed the SO2 to evaporate off. The setup was a 120 ft. well in Oklahoma rock. I pumped the water with a solar pump thru PVC into the aeroater- into the buckets suspended in the 18" opening of a 2000 gal plastic, above ground cistern. I added a gal of CS to the cistern monthly and had the cleanest, best tasting water in the county. I then used an RV(solar) pump to pump it into a pressure tank for furthur flow into the house. Before the filter, I had horrible stains in my commodes and sinks. My neighbors spent thousands on below ground, sand iron filters.

hmmm.
that certainly is an aerator, the question is weather there needs to be
additional time after aeration for the oxidation to take place.
neet idea.

Right. I forgot to mention that I sprayed it into the buckets thru a shower head.

This will work if the iron is in the non-soluble form, but if it is in the soluble form I doubt it will do much. To make it into the non-soluble form it is necessary to ariate it to provide oxygen, and also add lime or a base if it is acid. Once this is done the iron will form rust which can easily be filtered
out.
