It was also shown to destroy the protien coating on the virus. Those who use it on fever blisters get faster results than with CS alone. It is doing something to help kill the virus whether we have the research to prove this or not.
Why are you so against the use of DMSO in treating fever blisters. I know from personal experience with CS that adding DMSO increased the efficacy many times, and it took only hours to stop one that had already blistered. Where as CS it took days.
