So what is your point? You do not know that it does not kill the virus, it certainly stops prodromal symptoms from progressing so in effect it is killing the active form of the virus or the outbreak would continue after the DMSO is withdrawn.
Whether it also kills the latent form I do not know. But assuming it is not viricidal is clearly not a proven truth either.
