Dan, I will speak to oils and some Chinese medicine perspectives as that is part of my training. Oils are like cars. There are many models and qualities - 4 cylinder, 6, 8, 12 etc. All function on some level. The power workhorses can take one into deep terrain like 4 wheel drives, Hummers, etc.
Most oils are like the 'common' car - pleasant and improve your life to a degree. Few are power workhorses which deal with cleansing at a deep level which are able to take on the greater physical, emotional, mental and spiritual challenges. Standard science looks at physical changes only, so the underlying principals and perceptions are different. Quality counts. That's where the minute multitude of natures healing chemistry is locked in. Mother natures workhorses in the essential oil world meet an international French medical standards (AFNOR - ISO 9002). Oils may be prescribed by physicians in France and mixed by the pharmacist (grandfather clauses from before pharmaceuticals gained predominance). EO's are utilised in a variety of ways including diffusion, topical application, ingestion and 'up the bum' with night-time retention enemas for the big 'C' and other challenges while cleansing. The French are 'versatile' compared to the English which have different benchmarks of growth, distillation, certification and use which are 'common' and safer in a retail environment. When one is seriously sick AFNOR standard oils work efficiently or assist easing pain and transition. Historically, the King of England apprehended robbers of the dead and dying during the Bubonic Plague in England to ascertain why they did not get sick. The museum of anthropology indicates the thieves were from the 'Spice Islands'. Oils protected them from disease. AFNOR oils do that work today. If you wish to know more contact me off line because this is OT. I have worked professionally with English and French essential oils since the early '90's. Because AFNOR oils are natural and organic they will never become part of the mainstream as pharmaceuticals cannot put a patent on them. In Chinese medicine the skin is the largest elimination organ related to the functioning of the LARGE INTESTINE and LUNGS, mucus, and BODY HAIR on the physical level. Emotional aspects include grief, courage, sadness, shame disappointment, guilt, rectitude, integrity, righteousness and dignity and basic animal instincts. Intestinal cleansing, (letting go of outdated 'poopy' old belief systems) and oxygenation of the blood thus the cell are important factors to revitalize. Teeth are related to optimal functioning of individual organs. In American dental nomenclature the large intestines may mirror organ health are: Upper jaw> #4,5,12,13 Lower jaw>18,19,29,30,31. The right lung is related to 4,5,19,22, 27,29,30,31 and the left lung 12,13,18,19,22,23,24,27,30,31. Cleansing of the mouth, teeth & tissues assists support strained organs. >From this perspective, thinning hair is a evidence of organ strain/autumn of life. Fillings and root canals etc., on these teeth restrict the movement of energies and meridians through the body, and may compromise thymus, pitutary, gonads and adrenals which contributes to hormone imbalances. I hope this is food for thought to chew over other perspectives and insights. This does not have to be a permanent condition - cleansing improves efficiency and revitilizes. Currently the allopathic system (MD's) has no established solutions for thinning hair. Some other healing systems consider the functioning of the body as a whole and seek balance in organs, endocrines, and body parts. I have not used CS for thinning, however, as it has cleansing attributes, I cannot imagine why it would not assist if identified organs, endocrines and buried emotions (life's bumbs) are addressed also. Certainly one 73 year old is enjoying the benefits with her vision and hair. For a minute, suspend your social conditioning and education. Feel where 'buttons' were pushed reading this. Or read it another day, and watch your emotional responses. Your body is your best indicator of your journey and your truth. Trust it and it will tell you what your immediate priorities are. Otherwise, muscle testing may assist. You may contact me off line.
