I use olive oil soap instead of toothpaste, and H2O2 once a week
with an abrasive household cleaner (an ecological one which is
basically ground up sand) to deal with stains.
I also use an ionic toothbrush, which I am impressed with
http://www.ionicbrush.com/ .
I have also found taking vitamin C is very helpful in preventing
dental problems.
My dental health has never been better since I stopped using
toothpaste, got an ionic toothbrush, and started taking several
grams of vitamin C every day.
I used to feel a fuzzy layer of plaque forming on my teeth, and
when I flossed my gums would bleed, the floss would get stuck and
shred, and I would dislodge bits of rotting food - very
unpleasant. This no longer happens at all.
