I found that using Kleenex brand tissue, others may work differently I
don't know, is better than using paper towels. The paper towels shed
more and I had more yellow batches. With the Kleenex there is no
shedding and no yellow batches.

On the distilled water why not buy a counter top distiller and make your
own. It is nice not to have to carry bottled water. I bought a unit for
$99 from www.wholesalewaterdistillers.com . It is often sold for $200 -
$349, I have seen it many times for these prices. So this site is truly
wholesale. I have hard water, 42, so not as bad as some. I simply wipe
it out after each batch and soak it in vinegar and water over night
every 6 or 7th batch, when the mineral deposits that won't wipe out get
to be the size of a quarter on the bottom of the vessel.

My SG6 never registers any conductance with my home made distilled
water. I figure it has just about paid for itself in 8 months.
