CS mixed with 20-50% (depends on individual sensitivity to DMSO, patch
test or work up) DMSO is my topical treatment of choice for all herpes
infections. It works faster and better than CS alone. Both are
anti-viral and the DMSO delivers the CS deep into tissues.

DMSO as a treatment for shingles is detailed in DMSO Nature's Healer by
Morton Walker DPM. Amazon has it for ~$11. Although CS is not covered in
this book.

And of course lots of oral CS. Oral DMSO could also be used. 4% 0r 10%
is the recommended dilution for oral use, ~1-2 teaspoons per day, best
on an empty stomach, can be mixed with CS.

Compressing the lesions by wetting a peice of flannel or T shirt
material, laying it over them and keeping it wet and in place for at
least 20 minutes is even better than simply applying it. I would do this
through out the day. Remember to moisturize with Aloe Vera Gel or Emu
Oil as DMSO is very drying.
