I think the merit of the anti-virals is that in a real crisis, they
can keep the virus from spiraling out of control in the body, stopping
the illness from progressing to a fatal pneumonia.

Here is a link I found--I didn't know these drugs existed either.

I wonder what other side effects they may have besides the ones
mentioned.......seems like a bit much to shorten the flu by only one
or two days.
Prior to my cold, I'd have said I'd just stick with my CS, too. And
thanks to your info in your previous post, I plan to brew up some
higher ppm CS. Probably what I should have done the first day I was
coming down with it.

Hi Jonathan,
Sorry for misinterpreting your post - I didn't even know there were
prescription anti-viral medications that worked! Even then, I'd be
concerned about side effects, such as with CIPRO. (Yes, I know it is
only an antibiotic, but some coworkers think it is effective against
viruses.
I guess my first line of defense is cs, followed by staying away from
hospitals and doctors. So if I don't make it through the next big
one, you'll know if my theories work or not:)
