I would have to agree that dogs as well as cats eat a lot of
vegetation. I have 5 Samoyeds and I swear the act like a
bunch of grazing sheep at times. They like many types of
grass ,leaves and not just cause they have a upset stomach.
I will take them out for a run and when we stop for a rest
they seek out all kinds of green things to nibble on but
certain thin sweet grass seems to be a favorite. The cat is
the same . All of them finding energy and nutrients from
things in the world around them. They even dig and eat the
roots of some kinds of grasses and trees. This may be one
way they supplement there mineral needs. Its also one of
the reasons why I do not put any toxic lawn chemicals down .
there is so much cancer in our pets at a younger and younger
ages some of it may being triggered by this chemical soup
sold at all these lawn and garden places . They run in it
and get it on their paws and lick them off as well as
eating the greenery that has it applied to it.Yuck... I have
heard that mercury is added as a greening agent in some of
these fertilizer formulas and mercury is real nasty stuff.
Watch out all you golfers..... Alan

Dogs in the wild eat all sorts of things...fruits berries
grains veggies
roots insects and animals.
 I've seen em do it.
Mostly animals. They have preferences but they're not all
that picky.
