In an old text on Alchemy was a simple explanation for Ode's note:
"Paint a little pitch on such excretions for they cannot abide being cut
off from God's light and like all things such they will wither and die"
Smart Doctors and all decent Healers have been using this for
millennia. Of course, they nearly all caution that you need to have belief
as well and that a little spelling along with it never hurts" :-)
Mind you, the poor dog, like most people has probably been eating the most
incredible junk and THAT doesn't help. Rather like the odd person who
complains that they "aren't really cured of Diabetes/Cancer/MS because the
moment they try to lead a normal life it all comes back.................."
