She's a pretty fascinating character. As much a cautionary tale about trusting doctors too much as being careful with therapeutic use of silver. > However what about Stan Jones? He got instructions for making CS from people who didn't know what they were doing, probably mangled them more on his own, and ended up doing absolutely everything wrong that you could imagine. For something like 3 years, he made "CS" from various water sources -- stream, well, city tap water -- never distilled. He brewed it a glassfull at a time for an hour or more using an uncontrolled 27 volt generator. This produced a dark sludgy mess that he drank every day. Whatever it was, it contained huge amounts of silver, plus ample amounts of silver compounds, probably including some nitrates, as if that matters at this point! <LOL> The upshot of all this abuse was a very *mild* case of generalized argyria that caused the color of his fair skin to be slightly "off" under television lights -- seldom noticed and nothing like the orange- haired Smurf-like visage that was published in the national media after some dishonest "journalist" decided to photoshop his picture to "enhance" the story. The only other cases we know of argyria from modern silver preparations have been from other forms of high concentration silver salts or mild silver protein products. It pays to know as much as you can about silver, like everything else, so you can weigh the risks versus the benefits. Be well, Mike D.
