Just goes to show how "common name" terms vary from region to region, and maybe family to family. We always called the liquid inside a coconut "coconut milk". I've heard it called coconut "water" too.

Thai resturaunts use coconut oil  in a lot of their cooking. Local sources are 
Aisian grocery stores,Aisian sections of large supermarkets, and health food 
stores.
