North Carolina The Southeast can grow a lumber tree in 35 years with 2 pulp harvests in between. Mostly Loblolly yellow pine. Oak grows just as fast as pine. Washington...about 55 to 80 years. Minnisota....90 to 150 years
Cut down a maple, poplar or gum and it's a shade tree again in 5-10 years....ya can't kill em. Don't mow the grass for 2 years and you need a big bush hog. Don't clean out the gutters every year and you get saplings growing in there in no time. A fig tree will grow almost a foot per month.
