Hi Sol, Some people are "purists" and bend over backwards to eliminate something that will not hurt them. The Britta is a good filter. If one just lets the EIS sit quietly for several hours any large particles with fall out anyhow. Another good way to get rid of particles is to place the EIS in a freezer for a day and them thaw it. All particles will be in the bottom of the container . You could also wrap the cathode with a piece of white paper table napkin and it will hold the silver oxide that is formed. Another solution wold be to vacuum out gas the DW before use so there will be no oxygen to make silver oxide. "Ole Bob"
