Aluminum has been found in Alzheimers brain tissue, but that doesn't mean that Aluminum "causes" Alzheimers.

Copper has neurological effects if the body gets too much in it. Copper is very closely and well regulated by the body. Copper is also virtually everywhere.
People who have developed copper regulation problems can absorb too much copper though the skin just by swimming in one of those blue green ponds you see in some places, or soaking in a hot tub that's using copper to control algae.
Copper can be VERY toxic...but...
Those who don't have copper regulation problems, can eat Copper dust all day, drink water that turns the sink blue with copper stains for decades and their copper levels won't change one iota.

Silver is a little different because silver isn't 'everywhere'..
But people who mine and smelt silver very rarely turn blue. [Or catch a cold]
Researchers studying Argyria thought they could get some subjects to study from the silver processing industry. They were wrong.
True, that exposure level is an element, but regulation is the 'key' element regardless of exposure.

In that sense, copper doesn't "cause" these neurological problems, a busted regulator does.
Alzheimers is similar.
In other words, Alzheimers causes aluminum absorption and deposits in the brain, aluminum, like copper causes problems if there is too much of it around in there and neither metal can be avoided without taking drastic steps.
Tossing out your pots won't do it. It's in the air, food and water anywhere you go.

There is a staining procedure using copper/silver solution to detect damaged nerve and brain tissues in cadavers.
Copper and silver gets sucked into these tissues like a magnet, highlighting them for study.
The metals didn't damage the nerve tissues...the damage made the tissues into copper/silver magnets.

However, while alive with that damage, the cadaver didn't absorb and retain enough copper or silver to stain their brain before dying.
Maybe didn't stay alive long enough?

More likely, didn't have a busted regulator even though alcholol may have burned enough brian cells up over the decades for them to get stupid enough to crash a bicycle into a parked semi and crack their noggins open.
If their regulator was busted, they'd have had a copper/silver/aluminum..and lots of other unavoidable metals.. inlayed topographical portrait of a self abuse landscape in their skulls.
..but no, just unremarkable grey matter shot full of holes...that didn't matter to them.

[Should have been wearing a copper clad, silver lined aluminum pot on their heads while riding bicycles. I guess they just didn't think of it.]

Being about the 3rd most common element on this planet, I would hope that
Aluminum isn't all that toxic.

*******I thought Aluminum was a big problem! Responsible for Alzheimers, etc. MA
