Ma, here is something I stumbled across regarding Corning ware. It is a data sheet by corning glass ware. I quickly went through it and I believe when the material ( pyrex) reaches a temp of 700C it begins to melt and thus giving off toxicity. Have a look. I personally don't feel one should be alarmed by this because nothing on the stove in my experience has ever reached such temperatures. Not even in the oven.
