If your generator has no way to control current, you could get the same results in 5 minutes that you did in 50 minutes if the water differs just a little bit. Water quality can vary between jugs from point 5 uS to 5 uS within the same water brand on different days and make a HUGE difference in 'run time' to hit some PPM target.
