Marshall,

I found the best cure is to change your email address and only give it out
to selected people.  Better is to have 2 email addresses - one for your
regular close network of friends and coworkers, the other one to use where
there is a risk of it getting sold to spammers.  Changing the latter when
you start getting spam again is no big deal & doesn't require notifying many
people.
