Badminton or tennis racket...hence the sport of 'Bad Bee Minton'
And it is a sport! Those things can be really hard to hit.
They all do eventually fly low enough.

I have a propane/butane/ether starting fluid powered Beegun in development...like a potato cannon, only shooting bird seed and a smaller bore diameter. [But I have not yet a Beegun] A bulletless cartridge [wad of toilet paper to keep the powder in place] in a .22 rifle with the barrel full of small bird seed works OK. [Not very loud either] Just enough impact to knock a bad bee apart at 20 ft, but not enough to break windows or peel paint.

...and the song birds like to get shot afterwards.

Well I have tried the shop vac with no luck, and have tried using bug spray, once again with no effect. I use a newspaper, fly swatter, or my hand to swat them down and stomp them. Of course I can only get to those that fly below about 7 feet.
