Bob,

What happens in the body?

Does it not pick up a Cl atom in the stomach, regardless of it already being
in a solution with Cl ions?

            Jim

Heather,

When you mix CE (EIS) with a buffered saline solution the silver ion picks
up a chlorine atom and becomes metallic silver.

I have used CS in my pet's eyes, many times in fact. Emergency use as an eye
wash stings quite a bit, but is effective. I have blended the CS 50-50 in a
shot glass with buffered saline solution (like for contact lens rinse) and
applied that multiple times daily with much less stinging/reaction. It also
worked just fine. In every case the eye infection cleared within 1-3 days.
Antibiotic eye ointments are available and do a fine job on simple
infections. http://www.pawstogo.com/index.asp?PageAction=VIEWPROD

. If my pet just had an infection, I'd use this because the ointment itself
provides a protective film as well as the antibiotic. If it was in actual
injury or a chronic infection, I'd also use the CS/saline.

I was wondering if anyone has used colloidal silver to treat a infection in
their pets eye. Also what other things can be done to treat such an
infection. You can e-mail me at [email protected] (I will receive the
