Bob, What brands of Distilled Water are you using?
Dan >>> "bob smith" <[email protected]> 5/8/2006 1:58:30 PM >>> I have been making EIS for over 3 years with a Silver Gen 6 at between 5PPM/18PPM and have never had a batch show any color. I never wash the brew jar. The sides have a slight yellow/amber tint. That can be removed with H2O2. My daughter has a Silver Puppy and claims that she has never had any visible problem. I also have a generator that I assembled. Since I first got my SG6, I doubt that there was a single month that I made less than 3 to 4 gal. a month for friends/neighbors/kids. The last several months I have made an average of 25 gal. a month. If the problem of having a bad batch is unavoidable, it is time for it to happen to me. Unnecessarily. Those that make CS with "hand lathed ,consistent DC current, uniform machines capable of predetermined PMMs still have margins of error.. Excuse me for using the mass produced terminology. Regardless of what machine is used or whether it is 3 nines or a transformer my comments regarding the making of GOOD CS are still applicable.
