Mostly 15.9 uS at auto shut off of my Silverpuppy magnetic stir, quart batch. The Silvergen I have set to shut off at about 10 to 12 ppm, as I run gallon batches with that generator, and if I try to get 15 or 16 with a gallon batch it will go slightly yellow.

Hi sol, what uS readings do you get?

Mine vary all over the place, partly because I try to push the brew
as close to the limit as possible. It can drop dramatically if you
go too far past the peak. So I chicken out and quit long before I
should. But I hope to automate the process as soon as the ozone
 machine is working.

Yes, that's true if you only want to check your cs generator, the
calibration isn't real important. It's only when you need to compare
readings with someone else on the other side of the planet. Then the
problems start.
--yes, that is true. But with the touchiness of the process for me which causes me to need DW of very good purity, I have been more concerned with that consistency--it is pretty hard for me to compare with anyone else anywhere because hardly anyone else needs DW of .2 to .4 uS to make clear CS.

I almost never touch my system after the first cleaning with
isopropyl alcohol. Maybe just occasionally wipe the silver off the
cathode. Most of the time I just swap electrodes, and the black AgOH
from the anode disappears when it becomes the cathode.

How do you clean your generator and electrodes?

--I rinse them with peroxide rarely, maybe once or twice a year. Then rinse with hot tap water several times, then 2 or 3 rinses with DW. If I need to use a new jar, I run it through the dishwasher, then rinse with hot tap water and then DW, per Trem of Silvergen. --Because there may be airborne contaminants here, I wipe the electrodes with a piece of white paper towel, wetted with DW just before starting a new batch. I never wipe them after brewing, but only immediately before. Like you, I never touch the inside of the jar with anything once I have cleaned it to my satisfaction, I let jars air dry. Never touch the electrodes with fingers. Oh, and I clean the lids I put on the brew jars (when I'm storing CS in the brew jar) the same way I clean the jars, and I never touch the insides of lids either. But I'm really not convinced everyone needs to be this obsessive about it. But I do.
