If I had a baby with staph infection, I would give the baby small amounts of CS (1/2 - 1 tsp) every 2 hours. I know it has helped adults, but I have no first-hand knowledge with infants.
I would have no fear that it would hurt the baby in any way. My oldest daughter gave her son CS every day since birth.
