I sent a message to the Staber customer support address and had the
following exchange with someone who turns out to be the head marketing
dude and one of the owners. Yes, I was purposely being a bit snotty in
my initial message, just to see what I got. <evil grin>

Final results, not bad, but I think they should have given the guy a
refund and removed the washer from his home at their expense...

Be well,

Mike D.

Dear sir or madam:

I am aware of at least two sales of a Staber washer that have been lost
to your company due to the following report:

http://www.consumeraffairs.com/homeowners/staber_industries.html

In a world of internet communications, it is astounding to me that any
company will be so foolish as to allow even *one* customer to be taken
advantage of and left dissatisfied. The consequences to your reputation
will be incalculable.

Find Drew of Kelso, WA, in your records, send him a refund, and offer
to remove the offending machine from their home at no charge. It is the
minimum you should do.

Then fire whoever is responsible for failing to satisfy that customer.

If, perhaps, you can find a Staber machine that will actually work as
they are supposed to, perhaps Drew would accept it, along with your
personal commitment that they will be taken care of in the future.

I had never heard of a Staber washing machine before today. But the bad
reputation you are developing is right on your heels. I know I won't
consider your product until that situation changes.

Be well,

Mike Devour

Hello,

Thank you for your comments. This situation was resolved a couple years
ago by implementing a design change on our washer. Unfortunately, with
the Internet today, if a customer complaint like this is posted on the
Internet it stays up indefinitely (even if it is resolved). Good luck
finding zero negative comments posted about Maytag or Whirlpool. We
have thousands of satisfied customers, so I think our customer
satisfaction ratio is outstanding.

These are all unsolicited e-mails from our customers:
http://www.staber.com/testimonials

I have had my Staber washer for over 8 years and it is a great machine.

You are welcome to call me at 1-800-848-6200 if I can provide any
further explanation.

Thank you again for your comments.

Regards,
Chad Neal

Thank you for your response, Chad.

Was the partucular customer making that complaint eventually found and
taken care of?

Be well,

Hello,

Thank you for your reply. We attempted to solve his washer problem with
our design change but he refused our help.

Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance and we will
be happy to help.

You will be very satisfied with how well our Staber washer operates if
you give it an opportunity.

Check out the attached article written about our company in Columbus

[attached pdf file was an upbeat account of company history and product
quality, with some credible sounding testimonials from satisfied
customers... It also identified Chad as one of the 3 siblings who own
and run the company.]
