My husband was successful with two things - first, really good arch supports.
Wrapping an ace
bandage around the arch may help. The second thing, which he really likes, is
a special boot that
he wears to bed and when relaxing at home (NOT THE KIND OF BOOT YOU WALK AROUND
IN). I don't
remember where I found it, but I think it was about $70 on the internet. He
wore the boot for a
night or two, and the result was instantaneous. Also, there are exercises that
you can do - like
standing on your toes on the edge of a step, and dropping your heel down below
your toes (my
husband does this on the bottom step, so he doesn't have far to fall!). Do a
google search on
plantar fasciitis to understand what it really is, and you'll see why physical
manipulations like
these are successful. You'll also be able to find that boot online.
