Hey Marshal, Ode said, "If you stir too fast, one of the electrodes
develops a thick grey beard..." would a water pump stir the water too fast?
I'm using a quart jar - perhaps if I made it with a water pump and a gallon
container because of the size of the container the water would not stir too
much?
Ideas and suggestions welcomed!

We have two ears and one mouth - use them proportionately!
(I'm hoping that if it's in my signature line I'll heed the advice :-)

I think the easiest way to stir is to simply get a small aquarium filter
pump, and
pump the water around the container.

If you stir too fast, one of the electrodes develops a thick grey beard
of silver stabilized hydrogen bubbles that tends to insulate that
electrode and drops off into the water when it gets heavy enough. Some
floats, some sinks.
A gear head motor works far better. Even then, spin bar size should be
tailored to batch size.
