Any valve will do, [gate valve, ball valve] plastic ones are cheaper.
Using one that fits the lines makes it a whole bunch easier.
Look in or near the natural gas plumbing section for the small stuff.

use a pressure bypass loop hose and a valve to control rate of flow.
