foremost in my mind as I do not want one which is heavy to lug around
the place although I am sure this contributes to it's lasting and
long life !!!!

One thing to consider...
After a few months of using it, I think you will find that it is much
lighter than it may have seemed when you fist got it.
It really isn't that heavy - and is *much* lighter than most other
exercise equipment you might buy.
