I have done this, but have not been able to determine whether the problem is SIMS or hardware. I know from Macsbug that SIMS is the active application at the time of the crash. The crashes only occur when SIMS is under a heavy load; otherwise the machine never crashes. Per another suggestion from the list archive, I made sure that there are no unusually large mailboxes. The strange thing is that SIMS never crashed until maybe four weeks ago. The only software I have installed on that machine since then is Retrospect backup software, which I have since disabled without stopping the crashes. We did have a severe storm recently, which is why I wonder about the memory.
