For closure on this, based on a suggestion I received elsewhere, I played with the Linksys MTU setting. Setting it to 1492 and the problem went away (by default, with MTU Control disabled, it is 1500). I can only guess some sort of weird packet assembly/disassembly bug - perhaps in relationship with the DirecTVDSL/Telocity gateway. > What version of the firmware for your router are you using? I did upgrade to the latest but it made no difference until I played with MTU. I appreciate the suggestion of how to upgrade the firmware from a Mac but since we have two PCs as part of the network (my wife's, not mine :-( ), I took the path of least resistance and did it from a PC. I'll understand if my sin in doing so gets me expelled from the group. :-) -- Larry Stone [EMAIL PROTECTED] http://www.stonejongleux.com/ ############################################################# This message is sent to you because you are subscribed to the mailing list <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>.
