I don't see a reason to classify your mail as spam. The algorithm
apparently learns from every piece of mail that passes through
mail.app. In my case it is doing a pretty good job at sifting the wheat
from the chaff.

Is it possible that your friend marked some of your mail as spam? And
even if he did not, if the filter labels it as spam you can tell it
otherwise and it should learn. The key is that this is an interactive
learning algorithm. Unless your friend corrects the mistakes mail.app
will not correct its filter.
