There are 68k versions of both 1.8b8 and 1.8b9d14 on Stalker's FTP server
(ftp.stalker.com), and the requirements listed at
<http://www.stalker.com/sims/> are:

    o  Macintosh II or better
    o  MacOS 7.x or MacOS 8.x
    o  OpenTransport 1.1.1 or better

So it should run on a Q610 w/ System 7.6.

I've been running on a Quad 610 (or less) for years. With over 100 fairly active accounts. It doesn't even break a sweat most of the time. (though I do have more RAM). I find that OS 8.1 or 8.6 works a bit better for me.

Probably not a serious difference. You'll save a lot more by simply turning off your electric water heater for a couple of hours every day. (I put a $30 timer on mine years ago, and it now runs 1 to 1 1/2 hrs most days. Kicks on for an hour before the usual bathing routines and for half an hour before dinner prep/cleanup. I probably saved the $30 within the first two months. )
